According to a statement released by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, China has requested that the Netherlands not abuse export controls and refrain from doing anything that could impede bilateral cooperation in the semiconductor business.

According to what was said in the statement, it was made in response to questioning from the media. In addition, it was said that communication between the two nations had occurred often and on multiple levels on the issue.

On Friday, the government of the Netherlands put new limitations on the export of certain semiconductor equipment, lending support to an initiative that the United States is leading to limit the supply of high-tech components to China.
