New York Comic Con is giving industry insiders a full extra day. ReedPop has revealed the professional programming lineup for NYCC 2026, which kicks off on Wednesday, October 7, one day before the show opens to fans at the Javits Center.
The headline event is the third annual NYCC Retailer Day. Comic shop owners and buyers will get publisher presentations, retailer conversations, industry discussions and select creator signings. Writer Stephanie Phillips and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane will deliver the keynotes.
A week-long industry track
Professional sessions continue through the weekend. Thursday brings the ICv2 Insider Talks, and Friday hosts the Popcultr Marketing Summit. An Industry Summit and Mixer round out the networking side of the schedule.
Most of these sessions take place on the Pro Programming stages in the River Pavilion. A few will also run on fan-facing stages, open to every badge type.
Programming for educators and librarians
NYCC is again partnering with the New York Public Library’s Center for Educators and Schools. The NYC Department of Education’s Civics for All Comics Group is also returning. Together they will run professional development sessions on using comics in classrooms and libraries.
New: masterclasses for aspiring film and TV pros
The biggest addition this year is a track for people who want to break into the industry. Prop maker Robin Careless and practical effects artist Ian Campbell will lead hands-on masterclasses. Campbell will show how to build a sculpt from scratch for characters, creatures, props and special effects.
Who can attend
Professional programming is open to holders of these badges: Artist Alley, Writers Block, Pro Thursday, Pro 4-Day, Press, Content Creator, Panelist, Exhibitor and Sidekick.
Fans are not shut out. Through the new Aspiring Professional Program, Single Day and 4-Day Weekend ticket holders can reserve a limited number of seats at participating panels.
