According to the local administration, Foxconn (2354. TW), the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and assembler, received Vietnamese approval to invest $246 million in two new Quang Ninh projects.

The province administration said Foxconn Singapore would invest $3 billion in Vietnam to manufacture telecom and EV products.

Foxconn declined. In January 2025, 1,200 workers will produce EV chargers and components at a $200 million factory.

A $46 million electronics and telecommunications plant will open in October 2024. Both facilities will be in Song Khoai Industrial Park, 138 kilometers east of Hanoi.

Foxconn, which has been in Vietnam for 20 years, plans to build a $100 million factory in Nghe An, local authorities said last month.
