Cards Against Humanity Creates the Cards Against Humanity for Her box for $5 More

The creators of Cards Against Humanity have created a Cards Against Humanity for Her box which costs $5 more, according to its official website.

If you’re wondering why the creators Cards Against Humanity would sell a pink box that has the same deck of cards as a regular Cards Against Humanity deck, it’s because they are critiquing advertising geared towards women. Images of things geared towards females (like a woman going grocery shopping, holding a bottle of wine, working out, painting their nails, holding the box in an affectionate way, etc.) all include the Cards Against Humanity for Her box.

I would personally compare the specific design of the website to Playtex and L’Oréal Paris advertisements (In the FAQ section, when asked why the pink box is $5 more, the Cards Against Humanity creators say “Because we’re worth it”).

Along with the Cards Against Humanity for Her box, the creators of Cards Against Humanity also offer a Period Pack, that includes an extra 30 cards for $5 (the image that is used for this product is literally a couple of Cards Against Humanity cards on a pad being soaked by blue goo pouring down).

“A stylish game created just for her. It’s trendy, quirky, and only takes minutes for us ladies to understand. The cards are soft and won’t slip out of your hands. Perfect for Margarita Nights,” it says on the website that shows off the Cards Against Humanity for Her box.

The creators of Cards Against Humanity won’t be taking the money made from the box for themselves, though. All of the money from buying the charming pink box will be donated to EMILY’s List, a charity that supports pro-choice women being elected into office (according to EMILY’s List official website). In the past, EMILY’s List has helped senators Elizabeth Warden, Kirsten Gillibrand and even former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton get elected to office. They have also helped female governors, representatives and state and local officers be elected into office.

This isn’t the first time the creators of Cards Against Humanity have made a political statement using Cards Against Humanity. Back in 2013, the creators of Cards Against Humanity raised the price of the Cards Against Humanity box by $5 during the Black Friday sales, as a way to show people that Black Friday wasn’t meant to be some big marketing ploy according to Business Insider.

Just last year, the creators of Cards Against Humanity set up a ‘Holiday Hole’ where people can donate money to them in order to literally dig a giant hole in the ground, according to Polygon. The money, though, wouldn’t be donated to any charity as stated by the creators of Cards Against Humanity. This seems to be another critical approach to the holiday season (since that’s usually when people spend the most money) done in a hilarious manner. The campaign ended up making over $100,000, according to The Guardian.

In the FAQ for the Cards Against Humanity for Her box, when asked if this product is necessary, the creators of Cards Against Humanity respond with “It’s adorable. It’s cute. Self-care. Take time for yourself. Chia bowl. Perfect on your coffee table or bookshelf. Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Brunch. Cheat day. Nasty women. Yaaaaaaaas queen! Good vibes only. Activated charcoal. Gender Reveal Party. Avocado face peels. You’re such a Miranda. Paleo.” That is definitely saying something about how products are advertised to women.

The Cards Against Humanity for Her box will be sold for a limited time only. Honestly, this seems like a cool collector’s item and the money the creators earn from selling this box goes to a good cause, so why not buy it while supplies last?
