Nintendo and software developer DeNA launched Nintendo Systems in November to strengthen Nintendo’s business and “produce value-added services,” according to Nintendo’s Japanese website. The Nintendo Systems website opened today.

“Nintendo Systems was formed in April 2023, driven by a team of engineers from Nintendo and DeNA, to design a system that makes it easy to offer Nintendo entertainment to consumers,” Nintendo and DeNA said on the new Nintendo Systems website (loosely translated from Japanese to English).

Nintendo and DeNA have collaborated since 2015. The firms collaborated on Super Mario Run, Mario Kart Tour, Pokémon Masters, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

“Internet technology is evolving rapidly and getting more sophisticated. “Under these circumstances, Nintendo Systems will leverage the relationship of trust between Nintendo and DeNA, which has been cultivated through a partnership of more than seven years, and use Nintendo’s originality and DeNA’s knowledge of technology as the driving force to create innovations for the world,” the companies added.

The two firms’ collaboration is unknown. No games or software have been announced.

Tetsuya Sasaki heads Nintendo Systems. Sasaki became an Entertainment Analysis & Development Division software engineer in 1995. He worked on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Wii Sports, and Mario Kart DS.
