To compete with rivals Zoom and Microsoft Teams, Google Meet has released a portrait touch-up mode. With the new function, you may use beauty features like complexion smoothing, under-eye lightening, and eye whitening during video conversations.
According to the company’s release, Google now offers two portrait modes: “Smoothing,” which has a “slightly more” obvious change to your look, and “Subtle,” which makes modest cosmetic tweaks. The mode may be turned on in the settings and is disabled by default.

The business also stated that the function was in great demand, which is not unexpected considering the popularity of other video-conferencing applications’ cosmetic features like virtual makeup and skin-blurring tools. The new portrait touch-up feature is not accessible to users with personal Google accounts, which is a huge drawback. To utilize the functionality, you need a premium account, such as Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Education Plus, Google One, or Google Workspace Individual.
