Boys Come. First, the author Aaron Foley’s debut book was published in May, but Amazon is already planning to transform the LGBT, Black millennial-focused tale into a television series.

According to Deadline, Amazon is creating a Boys Came First adaption, which will be executive produced by Chuck Hayward, a writer for Ted Lasso, who will also pen the pilot and perhaps take over as the showrunner. Guys Come First, which is set in Foley’s hometown of Detroit, follows the narrative of Dominick Gibson, Troy Clements, and Remy Patton, three Black homosexual thirty-somethings who are all attempting to maintain their relationship and discover themselves at a time when the city they love is going through tremendous change.

As part of Graham’s first-look agreement with Amazon, Field Trip will produce the series, co-founded by Mozart in the Jungle executive producer Will Graham and Hailey Wierengo. Graham and Wierengo will also serve as the series’ executive producers.

There is currently no other information about the series available.
