WhatsApp Channels, developed by social media giant Meta Platforms (META.O), was unveiled on Thursday to transform the program into a “private broadcast messaging product.”

Channels are initially available in Colombia and Singapore. In the coming months, Meta has vowed to expand the service’s availability to customers in additional countries.

The company assured its clientele that they would be able to follow the latest developments in the lives of their favorite musicians, athletes, and politicians.

Viewers couldn’t see the administrator’s face or find out how to contact them. The same goes for the phone numbers of those who choose to follow you.

The new feature’s global deployment will involve the World Health Organization, FC Barcelona, and Manchester City.
