OpenAI delays launch of custom GPT store to early 2024

According to an internal document that Reuters viewed on Friday, ChatGPT manufacturer OpenAI has decided to postpone the debut of its bespoke GPT store until the beginning of 2024.

OpenAI initially presented the custom GPTs and shop during its inaugural developer conference, which took place in November. Both of these features were scheduled to be released later that same month.

In the message, it was said that the corporation is continuing to “make improvements” to GPTs based on customer input.

The delay occurs against the backdrop of the startup company’s unexpected dismissal of its CEO, Sam Altman, and his subsequent reinstatement as a result of threats made by workers to resign from their positions.

GPTs are early forms of artificial intelligence assistants that carry out activities relevant to the real world, such as booking flights on behalf of a user. Additionally, it is anticipated that users will be able to share their GPTs and receive money according to the number of others who share them.

It may be concluded that the postponement of the debut of OpenAI’s custom GPT shops represents an essential stage in the progression of artificial intelligence technology. Because of this failure, significant insights into the complex nature of artificial intelligence development have been gained, which calls for extensive testing and continuous improvement.

Although there is a possibility that ardent fans may continue to feel disappointed, this delay reflects OpenAI’s dedication to producing a product that is improved and superior.

In addition to being a significant learning curve for the whole artificial intelligence sector, it demonstrates the complications inherent in pioneering technical developments.
