AI hardware startup Hark has launched a new AI agent designed to take action on behalf of users, ahead of the company’s planned debut of its first hardware devices in 2027.
Called Hark Pro, the service was announced on October 6 and is available through the web as well as iOS and Android apps. The company says the AI agent can handle tasks such as buying groceries, booking a car and creating spreadsheets.
The launch comes as AI agents increasingly move beyond simply answering questions to completing tasks independently for users.
Hark Pro Can Handle Tasks for Users
Rather than requiring users to manually complete every step of a task, Hark Pro is designed to act on their behalf.
According to Hark, the agent can carry out practical tasks including purchasing groceries, arranging transportation and building spreadsheets.
The service is available to users for free, although Hark also offers paid plans for people who need higher usage limits.
The $20-per-month option provides twice the standard usage allowance, while a $100 plan increases the limit by 10 times.

Software Arrives Before Hark’s Hardware
Hark Pro is being introduced ahead of the startup’s first hardware products, which are expected to launch in 2027.
The company was founded by entrepreneur Brett Adcock, who has focused Hark on developing AI-powered hardware and software.
Launching the software first gives Hark an opportunity to put its AI agent technology into users’ hands before its dedicated devices arrive.
The approach also places Hark in an increasingly crowded market of AI assistants and agents that aim to move beyond conversational interactions and actually perform tasks for users.
For Hark, the longer-term goal appears to be combining this proactive AI capability with its upcoming hardware. Details about the company’s first devices remain limited, but the software launch provides an early look at the type of AI experience Hark intends to build around them.
With Hark Pro now available, the company will have to demonstrate that its agent can reliably complete useful tasks rather than simply generate responses. Its performance in everyday situations could ultimately determine how compelling its planned hardware will be when it arrives in 2027.
