WhatsApp is preparing to make life easier for iPhone users who juggle more than one account. According to WABetaInfo, the messaging platform has begun testing native multi-account support on iOS, removing the need for WhatsApp Business or other workarounds to switch profiles.

Some TestFlight users spotted the feature in the latest beta build, which now includes an “Account List” section within the Settings menu. From there, testers can add or remove accounts and switch between them directly inside the app.

Much like Instagram, each WhatsApp account keeps its own chat history, notifications, and personalized settings. Switching no longer requires restarts or re-entering login details, offering a smoother way to separate professional and personal conversations.

WhatsApp first announced multi-account support for Android users in 2023, noting that both SIM cards need to be active on the same device. A similar requirement is expected for iPhones once the feature rolls out more broadly.

There’s no confirmed timeline for a public release, but the fact that multiple testers already have access suggests the feature could land in the stable iOS version soon.

The update is part of a broader push to enhance WhatsApp’s presence within the Apple ecosystem. Earlier this month, the app launched on Apple Watch, letting users read and react to full messages, check voice notes, view call notifications, and scroll through chat history without their iPhone nearby.

To access those Apple Watch capabilities, users need WhatsApp version 25.34.74 from the App Store and an Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 10 or newer.
