Recently, we covered a story about a bug in Windows 7. Now, reports have emerged that a Windows 10 update is causing troubles for people who have downloaded and installed it.

The update is Windows 10 KB454067, which was released on March 10. There were supposed to be several fixes, and it was supposed to be a minor update. However, it follows Microsoft’s habit of releasing updates, which create more problems than they solve.

Windows Latest mentions that this update is for Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909, the most recent Windows 10 versions. It is causing some people’s PCs to crash and display the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

A reader of Windows Latest states, “After installing it, I had BSOD every time I started my PC. The only solution to this problem was to restore to a previous version of some days ago.”

People on Reddit have mentioned several issues since installing the update. Although the number of cases is low, it is continually growing. So, Microsoft needs to resolve this issue quickly.

The most common problem with the Windows 10 KB4540673 is that the PC crashes randomly. However, it isn’t the only problem. One user reported that his PC crashed while playing CS: GO. Moreover, other users have reported that the update takes a long time to download and install.

A user has also mentioned that the update has brought back the user profile bug. It replaces the Windows 10 user account with a new one, which removes the desktop icons. This issue caused trouble for a lot of people when it was included in a Windows 10 update.

If you have installed the Windows 10 update and you are facing issues, the best way to fix the issue is to uninstall the update. To uninstall the update, just open the up the Settings app, then click on “Update and Security.” A window will appear, click “Windows Update” on the left-hand menu. Now, click uninstall updates and select KB4540673 to uninstall it. You can also use the System Restore feature to restore the PC to when it was working correctly.

Microsoft hasn’t commented on these new issues, and the issue isn’t too widespread right now. If you have installed this update and aren’t experiencing any issues, you should continue with the update.
