To generate extra cash, company X, once known as Twitter, has expanded its membership service by adding two new levels. The massive social media company is introducing a new Premium+ tier.
This tier will have a monthly cost of $16 and will give the “largest reply boost,” in addition to removing advertisements from the For You and Following feeds. Additionally, the tier grants access to additional creation tools and includes a revenue-sharing component.
The second tier, which will go live today, will be known as “Basic.” It will cost $3 per month. This tier does not come with a blue checkmark. Still, it does offer fundamental capabilities such as the ability to modify postings and the capacity to upload more extensive texts as well as videos. In addition to that, it provides a “small reply boost.”
Both of the newly added levels may now be accessed via the website. Since Elon Musk grabbed the reins of the platform in the autumn of last year, X has experienced a decline in the amount of advertising money it has received. Launching the new tiers will provide X with other options to generate revenues as it works to make up for this decline. Musk’s contentious moves have caused advertisers to shy away from the social network.
As a result, large firms have ended up withdrawing their advertisements from the platform after seeing their ads shown alongside content that promotes racism and fascism. Reuters reported earlier this month that the company’s U.S. ad income has decreased every month since Musk took control, with the most recent numbers indicating a 60% year-over-year reduction as of August. This fall comes after Reuters reported earlier this month that the company’s overall revenue has decreased.
After a report by Bloomberg stated that X was working on new membership levels, the company finally launched the new tiers a few weeks later.
