YouTube said on Wednesday that it is adding a few new capabilities for premium customers. The platform is rolling out achievement-showcasing badges, adding additional devices to its improved bitrate 1080p HD version, introducing new deals on the Premium perks page, and extending the ability to watch YouTube on multiple platforms to smart TVs and tablets.

The Google-owned video platform is now available on Android, the Web, and smart TVs. It had previously shown its improved bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality for iOS. According to YouTube, the service enables “crisper, clearer details.” You may allow the function in the quality option, or it will be entitled automatically based on your connection and viewing preferences.

According to YouTube, you may accomplish tasks like listening to a podcast on your phone while driving, changing to the Web on your laptop during a break, and concluding the day by viewing your smart TV at home.

For users eighteen years of age and older, YouTube also introduces badges highlighting your network accomplishments. The new badges are intended to draw attention to your premium achievements and can be found on the Your Premium Perks page.

Finally, the firm is constantly introducing a new Premium Benefits tab. The in-game loot pack for Genshin Impact, a three-month trial of Discord Nitro, a three-month trial of Walmart+, a four-month trial of Calm Premium, and a three-month trial of PC Game Pass are currently available to members.

The introduction of the new features coincides with a week after YouTube began testing out new generative AI capabilities. These features include a conversational tool that responds to inquiries about YouTube content and offers suggestions and an element that compiles subjects discussed in video comments.
