Beyond Good and Evil 2, Skull And Bones Announced and More From Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference

The prequel to Beyond Good & EvilBeyond Good & Evil 2, new IPs Skull And Bones and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and Starlink: Battle For Atlas were just some of the announcements from Ubisoft’s E3 press conference.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was announced back in 2008, and not much news came out about it except for rumors. It took Ubisoft three years to announce any progress on Beyond Good & Evil 2 when Michel Ancel, the game’s director, said that it would come out the next generation of consoles (the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4) according to gamesindustry.biz.

The E3 trailer, available to watch on the Ubisoft US official YouTube channel, seems to show off the story of Beyond Good & Evil 2. It also introduced some of the characters that will be featured in the game; their profiles can be found on the Beyond Good & Evil 2 official blog.

Not much information has been released yet, such as a release window. Let’s hope that with this new trailer, the game will be released sometime next year or the year after and not put on hold for another 10 years.

A shocking Ubisoft and Nintendo collaboration was also announced, named Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. To announce the title, Nintendo’s co-representative director Shigeru Miyamoto appeared during the Ubisoft press conference. The game has been a rumor since back in May, when a leak said that a Mario and Rabbids collaboration is coming to the Switch, according to Kotaku.

In the official E3 announcement trailer, available on the Ubisoft US official YouTube channel, the audience sees that the Rabbids have invaded the Mushroom Kingdom. The gameplay shown is more of an RPG style with turn-based action rather than being a party game. Along with the gameplay, the audience sees a Rabbid dressed as Princess Peach. I think that about sums up what fans will see in this new game.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle will be released on August 29 of this year for the Nintendo Switch.

A completely new IP, Skull and Bones, was also announced during the Ubisoft E3 press conference. Players will become the captain of a ship during the Golden Age of Piracy as they fight against other pirates in order to win the most loot in this open world naval game. The game can be played in both single player and multiplayer mode, according to the official E3 announcement trailer available on the Ubisoft US official YouTube channel.

The gameplay trailer for Skull and Bones shows off a five versus five mode, where players have to try to destroy the other ships. Players will have access to cannons and can send their crew on other ships for an attack during the game.

Besides the announcement, not much has been said about the game except that it will be going into beta soon and that there is no set release date. Players can sign up for beta access here.

Another new IP from Ubisoft is Starlink: Battle for Atlus, where the player will use a toy figure connected to their controller in order to control their spaceship. Along with the main ship, players can attach weapon, pilots, hulls and wings to their controller for a more enhanced gameplay, and can even disconnect and reconnect weapons during gameplay.

It will be available in the fall of 2018 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The trailer for the game can be watched on the Ubisoft US official YouTube channel.

Along with these games, Just Dance 2018 and new VR game Transference were given release dates, new trailers for Assassin’s Creed: OriginsThe Crew 2South Park: The Fractured but Whole, were shown, gameplay for Far Cry 5 was shown and Steep DLC was announced.

Although AAA games Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed: Origins were announced before Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, Ubisoft still had some surprises up their sleeves.
