Unlike BMW, Lexus, and several other premium automakers, Mercedes-Benz has shown little urgency in releasing its full 2025 US sales figures. Rather than focusing on year-end delivery numbers, the brand appears to have its attention fixed elsewhere.
To be fair, there is little reason to believe Mercedes-Benz is celebrating outselling BMW of North America, which reported roughly 375,000 units, or Lexus with about 370,000 deliveries. Instead, the German marque spent much of its time spotlighting technology and future products at CES 2026.
At the Las Vegas event, Mercedes-Benz staged the US debut of the all-new electric GLC with EQ Technology, among other announcements. The brand also highlighted new in-car tech developments, including expanded MBUX integration and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos via Apple CarPlay. Meanwhile, the next-generation CLA introduces DTS AutoStage Video powered by TiVo, along with Sony Pictures Entertainment’s RIDEVU platform, which offers IMAX Enhanced visuals and DTS:X audio.
Mercedes-Benz also emphasized its growing list of strategic technology partnerships, naming Dolby, Xperi, and Nvidia as key collaborators helping to push forward digital platforms and connected-vehicle solutions.
As for new vehicles, the company rolled out the hybrid version of the latest CLA late last year, appointed tennis star Coco Gauff as its new global brand ambassador, and revealed the next-generation GLB. However, fans hoping for updates on core models like the C-Class, E-Class, or S-Class were left waiting, as no official announcements have yet been made.

That said, industry rumors suggest the flagship S-Class limousine is approaching a mid-cycle refresh. At the same time, spy photographers have already caught prototypes of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class with EQ Technology undergoing testing, a model expected to replace the underperforming EQE.
Still, the world of automotive CGI isn’t content to wait.
One such example comes from the YouTube channel “AutoYa,” specifically its offshoot project known as “AutoYa Interior.” The channel’s host believes that since the sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class debuted in 2023, the model is on track for a facelift around the 2027 model year.
The current E-Class lineup carries the W214 designation for the sedan, S214 for the estate, and X214 for the All-Terrain variant. According to this speculative vision, the model could receive a revised front fascia, newly styled taillights, and a refreshed interior layout. Powertrain updates are also imagined, including the long-anticipated AMG E 63.
In this scenario, the AMG flagship could return with a V8 plug-in hybrid setup producing over 800 horsepower, positioning it ahead of the latest BMW M5 in terms of outright performance.
But performance isn’t the only focus.
The AutoYa team enlisted one of its in-house digital artists to visualize an unofficial, entirely hypothetical redesign of the E-Class and place it side-by-side with the current production model. The changes are immediately noticeable: reshaped headlights, a redesigned grille, and a fresh LED taillight signature give the car a sharper presence.
Inside, the triple-screen configuration remains, but the concept introduces an LCD background element that visually unifies the displays. In this imagined interior, the instrument cluster is no longer a standalone unit, contributing to a cleaner and more integrated dashboard design.
Of course, this remains a purely digital exercise. There is no confirmation from Mercedes-Benz that such changes are coming but until official details emerge, CGI concepts like this offer a glimpse into what could be.
