Amazon released its largest tablet, the 11-inch Fire Max 11, today. Unfortunately, the 10.9-inch iPad and the new Pixel tablet are more expensive than the $229.99 gadget.
2000 x 1200 resolution gives the tablet a 5:3 aspect ratio. It’s rather large, given the iPad’s 59:41 aspect ratio and the Pixel tablet’s 16:10 ratio. However, the business claims its aluminum frame and toughened glass make it three times as robust as the 10.9-inch iPad. Amazon’s largest Fire HD 10 tablet was upgraded last year.
Octa-core MediaTek processors and 4GB RAM power the Fire Max 11. The Fire Max tablet has a “14-hour battery life,” according to Amazon. The firm includes a modest 9W USB 2.0 charger that fully charges the gadget in 4.2 hours. Buying a 15W charger separately cuts charging time to 3.5 hours.
The e-commerce giant’s new smartphone boasts 8-megapixel front and rear cameras for video calls. Bluetooth 5.3 allows wireless headphones. Dual Dolby Atmos speakers facilitate video playback.
Amazon also releases a magnetic keyboard case with pogo pins and a stylus. The Fire Max tablet and both devices cost $329.99. Amazon priced this tablet for productivity and family users who don’t want to spend iPad money.
The tablet has a Show Mode like the Echo Show to operate smart home devices and Alexa for voice commands. For example, you may establish two adult and four kid profiles for family sharing with Amazon Kids content and parent controls.
The Fire Max 11 and accessories may be pre-ordered today and sent next month. 64GB and 128GB tablets are available. Amazon also offers a three-month subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal, which includes Excel and Word.
IDC announced that global tablet sales fell 19.1% in Q1 2023. However, it said the market is recovering to pre-pandemic levels with 30.7 million shipments. More critically, Amazon’s shipments dropped 62% year-over-year, the lowest since the epidemic.
