Black Ops 6 Double XP Weekend Extended: More Time to Level Up!

Great news for Call of Duty fans! Activision and Treyarch have officially extended the highly anticipated Double XP weekend for Black Ops 6. Originally scheduled to end on February 10, players now have until February 12, 2025, to take advantage of this event. The decision comes after a major PlayStation Network outage prevented many players from participating, ensuring everyone gets a fair chance to level up.

Why Was the Event Extended?

The extension serves as compensation for those affected by the outage, giving them extra time to earn Double Player XP and Double Weapon XP. Fans of Zombies mode will be pleased to know that Double GobbleGum XP is also included. However, there is no Double Battle Pass XP this time, as Black Ops 6 Season 2 has just launched.

Warzone players won’t be left out either—Double XP applies in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone, making it an excellent opportunity to rank up weapons and unlock new attachments ahead of upcoming updates.

Key Dates & Details

– Event Start Date: February 6, 2025
– New End Date: February 12, 2025
– Platforms: Black Ops 6 and Warzone
– Included: Double Player XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double GobbleGum XP (No Double Battle Pass XP)

Before jumping into the action, players must install a mandatory patch update to participate.

Exciting Additions & the Terminator Crossover Event

One of the most exciting aspects of this extension is its overlap with the ongoing Terminator Crossover Event, running through February 20. Players can earn unique rewards by collecting enemy skulls in matches and exchanging them for exclusive items like the PP-919 “Judgment” Weapon Blueprint and the highly sought-after Reactive Armor Warzone Perk.

Additionally, a free Black Ops 6 multiplayer trial was available from February 6 to February 10. While this opportunity wasn’t extended, it allowed new players to experience classic maps such as Nuketown, Stakeout, and Dealership across multiple game modes.

Player Reactions & Industry Coverage

The decision to extend the XP event has been met with widespread approval. Gaming journalist Tyler Graham covered the update extensively, emphasizing its significance for players affected by connectivity issues. Known primarily for his work on home energy and utilities, Graham’s insights into gaming news bring a fresh perspective.

Fans have taken to social media to express their excitement. One Reddit user shared, “We finally get some extra time to grind after losing a whole day! Thank you, Treyarch!” This sentiment is echoed across the Call of Duty community, as many players see this as a fair response to the network issues.

What This Means for Players

This extension provides a full week of boosted XP grinding, allowing players to rank up faster, unlock new weapons, and progress more efficiently within Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Since XP tokens are disabled during this event, all players are on an even playing field, relying solely on the Double XP multipliers.

With additional rewards available from the Terminator event and more time to level up, this has quickly become one of the most rewarding Double XP events in Black Ops history. If you haven’t joined in yet, now’s the perfect time to jump in and maximize your progress!
