CEO Shou Zi Chew revealed Thursday that TikTok would invest billions in Southeast Asia over the next few years.

Chew told an Indonesian audience that TikTok’s content diversifies as it grows and enters e-commerce. ByteDance owns TikTok.

Southeast Asia has the most TikTok users. Shopee, Lazada, and Tokopedia compete with the site.

TikTok’s live-streaming e-commerce platform lets customers buy things via links.

Chew said TikTok has 2 million small vendors and 8,000 Southeast Asian staff.
