The American chipmaker Nvidia (NVDA.O) and its employees have donated $15 million to non-profit organizations in Israel and other nations that are assisting civilians affected by Israel’s conflict with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
In a statement on Sunday, Nvidia said that thousands of employees from more than thirty countries contributed $5 million, and the company matched their contributions. They increased to ten million dollars since it was part of a unique initiative to assist individuals affected by the conflict.
In the thirty years that the firm has been in operation, it was stated that the contribution was the most significant humanitarian fundraising ever. “We are proud to see such broad support from Nvidia families in Israel and around the world, and we are grateful for their prayers and hope for the return of our colleague Avinatan Or and the other hostages from Hamas captivity,” according to Gideon Rosenberg, Nvidia’s assistant general.
“The sincere concern of our employees worldwide truly inspires us.”According to his LinkedIn page, Or, who is thirty years old, has worked as an engineer at Nvidia since April 2022.
