Facebook Potentially Entering the World of eSports?

In a report on The Information earlier this week, Facebook is apparently in talks to gain a seat in eSports in 2017. This is only the next step in eSports continued growth in the world market.

Facebook has reportedly had “extensive conversations” with the company behind the mobile eSport Vainglory, Super Evil Megacorp. They have apparently been discussing the future of streaming professional competitions on their new Live platform.

In May, the Battle.net platform launched a new Livestreaming option that lets users stream their games directly onto their pages. The report on The Information also hinted towards Activision and Facebook entering a deeper partnership in the coming months, stating that FB could be streaming the biggest Blizzard tournaments on their social media airspace.

Super Mega Evilcorp still have exclusive streaming deals with Twitch, and denied the statement that they had any sort of talks with FB. More as this develops.
