Hisense is a famous brand that’s progressing in the world due to its ULED technology that produces realistic images. These features have made it on par with other manufacturers, such as Sony, LG, and Samsung. Now, the company has introduced R8F, which is quite outstanding. It is a superior TV which comes with an enhanced ULED technology and features Roku TV, which provides free content.

Hisense is going to face some intense competition, especially from the likes of Vizio M-Series Quantum and TCL 6-Series QLED. The thing that makes them a big competitor of R8F is that both of these have the same price range.

Release Date and Price:

The R8F Series TVs are available in two screen sizes, 55’’ and 65’’. Both have impressive starting prices of $500 and $700. Moreover, they would arrive in December.

Design:

Regarding the design of the R8F, a lot is going on. It features a bezel-less design and looks like an OLED set with full-array lighting instead of edge-lit. The OLED set gives it a pricier TV look, whereas the full array lighting is quite helpful in providing better contrast and color.

Hisense has both wide and narrow footprint options. Thus, you can put the larger screen on a narrow piece of furniture. If you currently have a 55-inch TV, you can place the R8F on the same furniture, and you don’t have to buy any extra furniture. Moreover, these options are the confirmed government specifications.

Performance:

The R8F contains many premium features, like Hisense’s ULED technology, that produces excellent images. The technology gives you brighter pictures, higher contrast, smoother motion, and better visual processing.

The Motion Rate 240 allows for smooth image processing, whereas the Hi-View engine image processing handles the picture and sounds setting according to the content that you are watching. Thus, you don’t have to change the settings when you watch something different.

It also features a wide color gamut, which gives the content better highlights. It also offers a broader color range and deeper contrast, which produces more amazing and realistic images.

According to Hisense, the full-array backlighting has around 55 local dimming zones in the 55-inch model. This gives deeper blacks up to 700 nits of peak brightness and, thus, compares with the Samsung Q60 QLED and Vizio’s M-Series.

Moreover, the TV has above average audio performance. It is the first TV that features the Dolby Atmos audio decoding built-in. The R8F also features two 15W left and right speakers, which have good audio with three-dimensional sound.

Overall, the sound is quite amazing, but the bass is lacking. If you are a person who wants a hearty explosion which you can feel, you should buy a good quality soundbar to go along with this TV.

Verdict:

Thanks to ULED technology, the R8F has excellent image quality with great viewing angles for an LCD. On the other hand, the Dolby Atmos produces room-filling sound.

Both the 55-inch 55R8F and 65-inch 65R8F will be available in different online stores by December 2019. However, a Hisense spokesperson said that the TVs wouldn’t come at any brick and mortar stores, until the second quarter of 2020.

Overall, the features of the R8F are impressive. However, its sound is a bit lacking, and the bass response isn’t powerful. Still, if you want to watch movies and TV shows in 4K quality, you should buy the Hisense R8F 4K Ultra HD Roku TV. You can also check out this list of the best 4K HD movies for your TV.
