In celebration of the 4th of July, Grand Theft Auto Online will be getting some new updates in order to properly celebrate in game (which will probably include intense fireworks, lots and lots of guns, and anything that screams ‘Murica).
One of the updates will bring out the true colors of Independence Day.
“Firework launchers, classic outfits, the Western Sovereign and the Liberator Monster Truck are all back through July 10, and 25% off their original price. Plus this year also brings patriotic new liveries for your Mobile Operation Center and Mk II weaponry to help you flaunt your love of country,” it also said in the Grand Theft Auto Online news update.
With this upcoming update is a new Adversary Mode named the Dawn Raid. In the Dawn Raid, players will parachute into combat and must search for a transmitter and bring it to the evacuation zone using the Trackify app to find the right package. Using the Trackify app, though, will let your enemies know where you are. In order to balance out the playing field, Grand Theft Auto Online will be giving players a lot of weapons and the Night and Thermal Vision Goggles (which can be used to spot the package and to watch out for enemies). Players can be in one of two teams, which will contain up to six players.
Players can take their chance in the Dawn Raid for double GTA$ and RP until July 10.
“In Los Santos, when it’s time to make a profit you do whatever it takes. In this case, that means parachuting from a chopper in the dead of night directly into a crossfire, using thermal and night vision to identify and gun down the opposition, and working with your team to track down the crate containing your tax-exempt profit margin. Time to make the deal,” it said in the description of the Dawn Raid in the Grand Theft Auto Online news post.
Another update to come to Grand Theft Auto Online is a brand new sports car, the Dewbauchee Vagner. The Dewbauchee Vagner is known for its speed, and carries the campaign slogan “The Vagner is a message from the future: you’re late.” It is only available at Legendary Motorsport.
Sales on water vehicles along with yachts and yacht modifications will be available, and new Premium Races and Time Trial schedules are currently posted in the news update. Premium Races will guarantee players three times the normal RP earned from races and the top three will win plenty of GTA$ to celebrate freedom. Time Trials will also give generous amounts of GTA$ and RP, but it isn’t specified how much each player will get.
Grand Theft Auto Online‘s previous online update was the Gunrunning update which came out in June of this year. The Gunrunning update gave players the ability to create, research and sell their own weapons and become an arms seller (players can even hire other players to be their employees). Included in this update are several different armored cars, so that players can drive a vehicle of their own style while delivering weapons to customers around Los Santos and Blaine County.

The update is available now for Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
