Elon Musk said that after eliminating titles from preview cards containing URLs last month, X, formerly known as Twitter, will once again display headlines.

Musk stated in a post on X that the business will overlay the title on the upper part of the image of a URL card in a future version. He didn’t illustrate how the card may appear or specify when it will be released.

The CEO of Tesla stated in August that X intended to discontinue displaying titles with URLs in previews in favor of “better aesthetics.” Following the news, the firm ceased displaying headlines in October.

Due to this modification, users are no longer required to read the headline or honestly know the title by tapping or clicking on the URL card. Publishers began writing their titles on photos and posting the link independently, or they would incorporate the headline in the image of the created preview card as a workaround for this move.

Publications may find this modification easier to use and less complicated than bespoke formats, but this depends on how the new card is laid out.

Major sponsors, such as Apple, Disney, and Comcast, have stopped investing in X following Musk’s backing of antisemitic sentiments, causing the company to face a turbulent few weeks. Only a few weeks after signing on, Paris Hilton’s 11:11 network said on Tuesday that it was ending its connection with the social network firm.

Musk filed a lawsuit against Media Matters earlier this week for defamation. This was a reaction to a news report that claimed advertisements for companies such as Apple and IBM were showing up next to offensive material.
