Zoom is adding AI-powered meeting management tools.
Zoom IQ, Zoom’s AI-powered product, received updates on Monday. The new functionalities use OpenAI’s LLM to summarize sessions, write recaps, and draft chat and email answers. Zoom is the latest productivity tool to use AI, following Microsoft, Google, and Sl.
Because OpenAI offers an API, commercial service providers push AI (Opens in a new tab). For example, Microsoft unveiled Copilot, a comparable feature for all Office programs. Salesforce announced ChatGPT for Slack, and Google brought AI functionality to Gmail and Documents. As a result, LLMs can swiftly process massive volumes of data. For those who don’t have enough time, this technology’s ubiquitous availability is a game-changer. AI connections make everyone’s assistant.
Zoom IQ already employs AI to provide meeting information through chapters, recording highlights, and action items. It adds OpenAI’s strong generative AI model. Zoom IQ can summarize and ask questions for latecomers. Zoom’s whiteboard may brainstorm using text prompts. Zoom IQ may publish meeting summaries and action items on Team Chat, Zoom’s version of Slack, or summarize threads if you leave your computer and return to a flurry of messages. Zoom can gather information from your email and calendar to create a meeting agenda or email draft.
“Select clients by invitation” will receive Zoom IQ chat compose and email compose in April. “More generally” Zoom IQ meeting summary features will be released.
