The New York International Auto Show is like Christmas to us here at Whizord, we count down the days, as nowhere else will you find so many car enthusiasts, car manufacturers and cars of the future in one place. One such car of the future at the show was the Spyker C8 Preliator Spyder, fresh out of the Geneva International Motor Show where the C8 Preliator had a spectacular showing.
Boasting honeycomb stitching and featuring a name like Preliator (latin for fighter), you know Spyker is going to come out swinging with this model. Keeping with the fighter motif, many elements of the Spyker C8 Preliator Spyder were actually inspired by fighter aircraft that the manufacturer created during the first World War.
If you do want to get your hands on this boutique brand super car, you will have to be quick, there are only 100 cars planned for output. Everything about this car is unique, and expertly crafted and sourced, a fact Spyker is extremely proud of. As said by a company spokesman, if you are driving one of these and you pull up to a red light, you are guaranteed to not see another pull up next to you. Truer words have never been spoken, not to mention all the heads that will turn in your direction in one of these.
We had the opportunity to interview Spyker Limited’s Director of Marketing, Sander Van Dijk, at the show where he gave us some insight into the car’s development and history. You can view that video below:
Be sure to check back for more on the show, as well as what Spyker has planned for the future! You can expect to see the Spyker C8 Preliator Spyder for sale sometime next year, with pricing information coming in the future as well.
