Apple will build its first physical shop in India later this month, nearly two decades after starting sales in the second-largest internet market in the world.

Apple BKC, its first Indian retail shop, opened on Wednesday at Jio World Drive Mall in Mumbai.

“Inspired by the classic Kaali Peeli cab art specific to Mumbai, the Apple BKC creative contains vivid interpretations of the decals blended with various Apple goods and services that will be accessible for our consumers to discover,” the firm added.

Apple will open its second India shop in New Delhi in the coming quarters.

According to recruiting postings, Apple has been aggressively employing Indian shop personnel. However, after COVID-19, the firm postponed opening its first retail store until 2021.

Apple is optimistic about its chances in India, the world’s second-largest smartphone market.

Foxconn and Wistron, Apple’s contract manufacturers, have increased local iPhone and Apple device assembly in recent quarters. Last year, JP Morgan analysts predicted Apple would manufacture 25% of iPhones in India by 2025.
