Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and the biggest contributor to open-source WordPress, released an AI assistant for the popular content management system on Tuesday.
According to the business, the assistant interacts seamlessly with WordPress.com and Jetpack-powered sites. Add an “AI Assistant” block to your post or page. After typing a natural language prompt, the AI assistant will generate text. The AI assistant can generate blog post ideas and produce structured lists and tables.
It can also make a post more casual, cynical, amusing, confident, or compassionate. The helper can summarize and title the post.
Automattic said the new AI helper supports 12 languages, including Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, and Hindi. Writers can write in their original language and translate it into English. The helper also corrects spelling and punctuation better than WordPress.
Free trials of the Jetpack AI Assistant block allow 20 requests. After then, the functionality costs $10 per month.
Many writing programs have added AI-powered functionality in recent months. Microsoft Word and Google Docs both have AI functionality. Project Tailwind, an AI-powered note-taking experience, debuted at Google I/O last month. Notion and Grammarly both feature AI-powered writing apps.
