Today, Mark Zuckerberg said that Meta has begun testing a feature to display thread postings on Mastodon and other networks implementing the ActivityPub protocol.

Even though this is a significant step toward Threads becoming a part of the federated social network, Zuckerberg has not yet provided any specifics on how the integration would operate.

Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, stated that the social network would not integrate with the Fediverse at the time of the debut of Threads since it was introduced in July. On the other hand, he stressed that Meta continued integrating its most recent platform with the decentralized social network.
