Salesforce (CRM.N), a company that specializes in enterprise software, unveiled on Tuesday a generative artificial intelligence tool that will be integrated into its whole suite of applications, from the instant messaging service Slack to the data visualization tool Tableau, and can be customized by Salesforce’s customers to match their specific requirements.

The business said in advance of this week’s Dreamforce conference that the assistant, who goes by the name Einstein Copilot, can video sessions and provide customized responses to queries customer queriesroduce emails for marketing campaigns, among other capabilities.
A Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) employs human language to respond to queries posed by the user and generate material in response to requests made by the user. AI copilots act similarly to virtual assistants in that they may create content, make reminders, and organize meetings.

According to Salesforce, its Einstein Copilot can develop relevant replies by drawing on data about customers and businesses stored on Salesforce’s Data Cloud. It will be possible for users to link the assistant with chat systems such as Slack and WhatsApp, developed by Meta Platform (META.O). Users will also be able to embed the assistant into their websites.

In March, the San Francisco-based business responsible for developing the Einstein GPT gene solution made it available for purchase. In June, the business also increased the amount of money available in its venture capital fund for generative AI companies to $500 million.

Since OpenAI’s ChatGPT went viral a year ago, many technology companies, including Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Alphabet (GOOGL.O), have been exploring to capitalize on the increasing interest in generative AI. The startup Marc Benioff runs is the most recent of a wave of tech firms joining this trend.
