Shanghai wants Microsoft to promote AI tech in city – govt

Shanghai wants Microsoft to promote AI tech in the city. On Tuesday, the authorities in Shanghai informed the visiting president of Microsoft (MSFT.O) that they want his company to push artificial intelligence technology to encourage enterprises in the city, according to the administration of the Chinese financial hub.

According to the government, Chen Jining, the Secretary of the Communist Party of Shanghai, made the remarks during a meeting with Brad Smith, the President and Vice Chair of Microsoft.

Chen stated that Shanghai was also open to the possibility of Microsoft working together with Shanghai to investigate governance frameworks and standards connected to technology.

The partnership between Microsoft and the government of Shanghai contributes to enhancing public services to levels of accessibility and efficiency that have never been seen before. Platforms powered by artificial intelligence make it possible for citizens and authorities to interact seamlessly, which enhances service delivery and increases transparency.
