The Boys Season 2: Trailer, Release date and What we Know so far

The first season of The Boys was a great action superhero show and one of the best Amazon Prime Video originals. It dropped some of the excesses of source material and had a sympathetic characterization of its cast.

The Boys season 2 was announced even before the first season got aired, and it is probably one of the best Amazon shows to date. You can watch it on your laptop, but if you want to see it in 4K, you should buy the new Hisense R8F 4K Ultra HD Roku TV.

The end of the first season seemed like the show had cornered itself. However, there are loads of stuff to see in season 2, and it has incredible potential.

The Boys season 2 trailer has come. You can look at it online on YouTube. It doesn’t reveal too much and has a lot of violence and snapshot of the show’s characters. The story of season 2 starts at the exact time where the first season ended. At the end of season one, the evil Superman stand-in Homelander mentions a super-powered son. You will also see a highlight of Terror, which is Billy Butcher’s dog from the comics. This is an essential part of the show in the second year.

There are several non-video teasers of the season 2. You can see a teaser of season 2, tweeted by Kripke, here. Karl Urban also posted the following picture on Instagram:

The first season of The Boys started in late July 2019. Thus, it makes sense that the second season will also begin somewhere at that time. The renewal of the series before even airing indicates that there are a lot of fans of the show.

We know that the show is going to return to mid-2020. The actor, Karl Urban, indicated this on Instagram when the show had just finished filming. Moreover, during the San Diego Comic-Con 2019, the executive producer of the show, Eric Kripke, mentioned that the second season would air at the same time this year. So, it is highly likely that the show will air in July 2020; however, we will keep you updated with the latest developments.

A few elements of the show remain a mystery from the finale of season one. For example, Compound V, which is the mysterious dog that gives superpowers to humans, might remain a mystery in the show. “It’s a secret that no one knows about yet. This secret will become a great attraction for the show,” Kripke said. Now that Hughie and Billy both know that secret, the question is that what will happen next?

At the end of season 1, Homelander dropped Billy Butcher on his wife’s garden. She has been presumed dead for some time. However, she has got a family with Homelander, which also includes their super-powered son. It’s quite a problematic situation for poor Billy. Many questions arise, like whether Billy and the rest of The Boys will function as an underground group, now that Billy is under the direct control of Homelander?

You should expect both The Seven’s cast members and The Boys to return soon. Jack Quaid will return as Hughie, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, and Karen Fukuhara as The Female. We also know that Erin Moriarty will return as Starlight. Moreover, other members of The Seven will also return, like the gross fish-man The Deep, Homelander, A-Train, and Queen Maeve.

The Boys season 2’s cast will feature many big names of the industry. Giancarlo Esposito came in the first season’s finale. He starred as enigmatic Vought CEO, Mr. Edgar, who is well known for his role as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. He is going to play a more prominent role in season 2, mainly because Madelyn Stillwell got killed in the season one finale.

Some other new actors will also join the cast. We know Aya Cash will appear as Stormfront. Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt will also appear. Also, two other actors, Goran Visnjic and Claudia Doumit, will play major roles in The Boys Season 2.
