TikTok offers its revised creator fund to US-eligible creators.

Today, TikTok opened its revised creator fund, the “Creativity Program Beta,” to qualifying U.S. creators. February saw the business test the new initiative with chosen creators. TikTok said the new initiative would increase creator earnings and real-world chances.

The initiative requires creators to have a U.S. account, be 18 years old, and have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the previous 30 days.

Creators cannot return to the Creator Fund after joining the new program. TikTok did not indicate if the Creativity Program will replace the Creator Fund, although it may do so after it leaves beta.

TikTok said the Creativity Program Beta rewards formula offers a greater average gross revenue for eligible video views but did not specify payouts. The company’s current Creator Fund, inaugurated in 2020 with a $1 billion pledge over three years, has been slammed by artists who say they only received a few bucks for films with millions of views.

Creators must make high-quality, original videos for over one minute to start earning. TikTok’s Creator Fund pays for videos under one minute. In addition, the Creator Fund pays creators with 10,000 followers, whereas the Creativity Program Beta requires 100,000 followers.

Creators get an enhanced dashboard with more income estimates, video performance data and analytics, and eligibility conditions.

“The Creativity Program Beta is in its early stages, and we’re continuously exploring ways to improve the experience for our creator community and the way creators are rewarded,” TikTok noted in a blog post. “We welcome community feedback.”

The Creativity Program is TikTok’s latest revenue option, joining LIVE subscriptions and Pulse. In addition, the firm monetizes tips and gifts.

TikTok just launched another creator-friendly scheme. TikTok introduced “Series,” a paywall option for qualifying creators, in March.

Series lets qualifying producers post premium content behind a paywall. For example, one Series can include 80 20-minute videos. Creators can price their Series to represent the value of their exclusive material. Select creators can apply to join the Series in the coming months.
