Five Night’s At Freddy’s Fans Are Convinced That Creator Scott Cawthon Is Trolling Them Again

Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights At Freddy’s (FNaF), the indie horror game that took the world by storm when it released August 8th 2014, is set to release the 6th installment of the in the series, but now Cawthon has recently stated that he has cancelled the project and has decided to work on other things, but his fans know better than to believe him.

Cawthon has a history of falsely delaying and cancelling his games as a way to mess with his fans and build suspense around his upcoming project, the previous installment in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series Five Night’s at Freddy’s: Sister Location was supposed to be delayed and Cawthon was not sure when the game would be released, however, the game ended up being released a few days ahead of its originally scheduled release date. Scott often teases his games and books to his fans with images through the use of his two websites scottgames.com and fnafworld.com currently if fans were to go to the website scottgames.com they would see an image of static over the screen and if fans were to go to fnafworld.com they would see a pair of glowing, green, robotic eyes staring eerily back at them.

FNaF fans often tend to dig deep when Scott posts images about his games, if you were to save the images your device would ask if you would like to save the images as “interrupt” for the static image and “Iamstillhere” for the glowing green eyes image, in a similar manner Scott has been having his two websites seemingly communicate with each other through the HTML code in April with one website saying, You can’t tell us what to do anymore,” and the other responding “Yes I can. You will do everything that I tell you to do.” Fans believe that this is another way of Scott teasing FNaF 6. Even with Scott’s recent reasoning for not wanting to continue the game due to pressure, fans still do not believe him, “But after forcing myself to keep working on it day after day, I realized something- I just don’t want to work on this. With each game’s release, I think the expectations get higher and higher for the next, and rightfully so. Each game SHOULD be better than the last! But that pressure starts to mount, and I fear that I’ve been neglecting other things in my life for the sake of trying to keep up with those mounting expectations. So, after giving this a lot of thought; I’ve decided that I’m going to stop working on it. I’m not going to reveal anything else about what the game was, and I’ve asked other people involved to never divulge anything either. It’s just not going to be talked about.”

When met with the disbelief by fans and stating that he may make other small FNaF games besides FNaF 6, Scott responded that he was not trolling and needed a break and even asked, “Would I ever troll you guys?” This caused the community to explode as Cawthon as stated prior, has a long history of trolling his fans and while some are getting tired of his trolling it seems as though it has become necessary for Scott to promote his game, nonetheless fans should be on the lookout for any more teasers that Scott may reveal about FNaF 6 you never know what surprises he may be hiding.
