According to Bloomberg News, Alphabet Inc.’s (GOOGL.O) Google has started talks with domestic suppliers to transfer some Pixel smartphone manufacturers to India.
After China’s COVID-19 limitations hampered production, tech titans are looking to India for manufacturing.
Foxconn (2317. TW), an Apple (AAPL.O) supplier, was handed a deal to manufacture iPhones in India earlier this month.
Bloomberg said that Google spoke to Lava International Ltd (LAVA.NS), Dixon Technologies India (DIXO.NS), and Foxconn Technology Group’s Indian unit Bharat FIH.
Reuters received no response from Lava, Dixon, Bharat FIH, or Alphabet.
