Late Monday evening, Twitter’s new CEO Linda Yaccarino announced that she had begun her position a month after being nominated by Elon Musk.
She tweeted, “It happened—first day is in the books!”
Former NBCUniversal advertising chief and current Twitter executive Yaccarino is working to reverse the company’s declining ad income.
After purchasing Twitter for $42 billion in October last year, Musk became CEO and said Yaccarino would help build an “everything app.”
Joe Benarroch, a former executive at NBCUniversal, joined Twitter on Monday. He oversaw communication strategy for Comcast’s Advertising and Partnerships division while reporting to Yaccarino before joining Twitter.
