Microsoft and Google must legally verify AI product safety, says VP Harris.

On Thursday, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris informed CEOs of tech giants, including Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Google (GOOGL.O), that they had a “legal responsibility” to guarantee the security of their AI technologies.

She said she and President Biden would be willing to push for and back new artificial intelligence laws and legislation.

On Thursday, the White House will welcome several major AI corporations’ chief executive officers (CEOs) to address the potential dangers and safety measures associated with the rapidly growing industry.
