Moonfire Ventures, founded in 2020 by former Atomico co-founder Mattias Ljungman, announced on Wednesday that it had collected $115 million to invest in European digital startups and AI.
Moonfire Ventures’ fund-raising underlines Europe’s artificial intelligence boom, which has prompted policymakers worldwide to consider how to regulate AI.
“Europe has been a leader in AI and we find our best fit is to support the next generation of founders solving some of our greatest challenges within health, work, finance and gaming,” Ljungman added.
This week, Margrethe Vestager, the EU’s digital director, announced that the EU and the US would cooperate on artificial intelligence to create basic criteria before the law takes effect.
