Plex is officially launching its much-anticipated app redesign for Android and iOS devices. After months of testing, the refreshed experience is now rolling out and will be available to all users within the next week.
The redesigned app introduces a new navigation system aimed at improving accessibility and making it easier for users to browse and find content. A standout feature of the update is a dedicated tab for centralized media libraries, offering a more organized view of your personal content.

Among the visual and functional improvements, Plex has added a Watchlist button to the top-right corner of the screen, more prominent artwork on detail pages, and expanded cast and crew profiles for deeper media insights. The company also announced several performance upgrades, including faster load times and smoother scrolling.
Other new features include:
-
Picture-in-picture support
-
A sleep timer
-
UI enhancements for ratings and reviews

And there’s more to come. Plex is working on features like whole-season downloads, expanded casting options to more devices, and a redesign of its TV app, which is already in testing.
In tandem with the redesign, Plex also announced pricing changes: starting April 29th, the Plex Pass will increase to $6.99 per month. Additionally, a subscription will be required to stream content while away from home — a shift in policy that could impact longtime users.
With this update, Plex is reinforcing its place as a powerful media platform for both personal and streaming content, with a sharper focus on usability and premium features.
