Destiny 2 recently made an appearance at Sony’s E3 spotlight and from what we saw from the trailer, the game looks amazing. The trailer focused mainly on the story behind Destiny 2 and even gave us a glimpse at the upcoming game’s new big bad villain, Dominus Ghaul the military emperor of the Cabal Empire. However, aside from seeing the gameplay and story of the upcoming sequel Destiny fans are all wondering when will the games be officially released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC and when will the betas for the games be open to players as well? Well thankfully all release dates and beta dates have been given and are as follows: July 18th–early access PS4 beta, July 19th-early access Xbox One beta, July 21st-open beta, late August-PC beta, September 6th-PS4 and Xbox One launch (2 day move up from September 8th), and October 24th-PC launch.
For all of you PC gamers out there, it seems as though you will have to wait a little longer than console gamers before you can fully play the game, however, it isn’t unheard of for games to be released at a later date on PC, but for those of you who play on PS4 you can expect special exclusives at launch. “Revealed today were the Destiny 2 PlayStation timed exclusives available at launch, which include a competitive multiplayer map, a three-player cooperative Strike, a blue and white colored ship, specialized gear sets, and an exclusive exotic weapon.”
It seems as though Bungie has kept their promise about releasing a line of updates for Destiny 2 after the original Destiny was announced to not be receiving any more updates due to Bungie and Activision choosing to focus more on developing Destiny 2 more than it’s predecessor. A live stream aired back previously showcasing gameplay of the upcoming Destiny sequel, some things we learned from the previous gameplay trailer released back in May were the inclusion of three different weapon slots for you character kinetic, energy, and power, the three original classes Warlock, Titan, and Hunter have new super attacks, Warlocks summon a flaming sword that they can use to rain a furious barrage of fire down on their enemies, Hunters can summon a staff to deliver swift furious attacks to their enemies, and Titans can summon a shield that they can wield Captain America style, throwing it at enemies and cause it to ricochet off of enemies and other objects.
The gameplay has also revealed the inclusion of clans, new planets and the new Raid feature where solo players can recruit others for a difficult complex cooperative mission. The game is set to be loaded with new features Destiny players will love! Be sure to preorder for access to the early beta. Happy gaming!
