Once the most popular mobile game in the South Asian market, Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile India has been removed from app stores for national security reasons but is now available for download on Android and iOS.

On Monday, the South Korean developer announced that BGMI would receive a version 2.5 update, including a new map named Nusa and improved weapons.

Indian officials have announced that BGMI will return to the country for a three-month trial this month. After that, the government will watch the game to see whether there are any negative effects, such as addiction. In response, Krafton has said it will limit daily playtime to three hours for those under 18 and six hours for those over 18.

The tens of millions of Indian gamers who once proclaimed their predecessor, PUBG, as the nation’s favorite has been relieved by the game’s return. The government decided to outlaw the game as tensions between India and China grew in the middle of 2020.

The success of BGMI again in the Indian market may pave the way for another 300 apps to attempt again. Similarly, Chinese fashion behemoth Shein has announced a deal with Indian conglomerate Reliance to re-enter the industry.

According to Krafton, BGMI has updated the resort island of Nusa to include a two-seater vehicle, a new navigation system, and the ability to recall certain players who have perished under specific circumstances.
