Many organizations have converted from buying to renting assets as the economy has deteriorated. This is called “Servitization” or “Everything-as-a-Service” (XaaS). ServiceNow automates enterprise operations. Equipme, from Germany, is a new XaaS player.

After last month’s €250M fund round, Berlin’s La Famiglia VC led a $3.8M seed investment round.

Lightbird, Anamcara, and angels like Personio co-founder Ignaz Forstmeier and former Microsoft Head of Corporate Strategy Charlie Songhurst also invested.

Equipme claims its B2B marketplace and asset management platform lets vendors offer their products and services in this XaaS way. Thus, firms ask their service providers to join and provide their services via self-service.

“For instance, Equipme simplifies the process of equipping employees during the onboarding process, by seamlessly integrating all relevant parties and suppliers, including the employees itself to select their preferred devices and tools,” said Paul Martin, Co-Founder and CEO of Equipme. Equipme then centrally manages inventory, subscriptions, and related costs throughout the lifespan.

Equipme has 500 DACH customers and wants to expand globally. Alexandre Seifert and Paul Martin formed the Frankfurt Main-based startup in November 2021.

“Decision-makers value cost efficiency and flexibility most,” said La Famiglia Partner Judith Dada. This explains Software as a Service’s recent success.”
