AV-Test, the provider of reviews of antiviruses, has confirmed that NordVPN is the best and fastest VPN on the planet.
AV-Test performed the test by measuring the upload and download speed of NordVPN and comparing it to an encrypted connection in Japan, UK, and the United States West Coast.
The antivirus provider gave an insight into these results in a report saying, “NordVPN was the winner of performance test for download and upload performance in all the three regions of the world. Out of the six tests, it got the top spot in the first five categories. However, it missed the first spot in the last test by a small margin. It outperformed the second number VPN by doubling its performance.”
VPN helps to protect your online security and privacy. However, the biggest disadvantage of using a VPN is that your Internet speed reduces due to the encryption process.
To counter this issue, NordVPN built a custom VPN protocol called Nord Lynx. The company made the VPN around WireGaurd protocol that uses amazing cryptography and research proves it. However, WireGaurd is quite fast. So, it has some privacy shortcomings which the company minimized by using a custom double Network Address Translation (NAT) system. This system allows the NordVPN users to establish a secure connection without compromising on the speed.

The digital privacy expert at NordVPN, Daniel Markuson, commented on the results of AV-Test’s comparative VPN speed tests, saying, “We have delivered our promise to the users of providing the fastest VPN. Due to security measures, we had to sacrifice some of our speed, however, we have still obtained groundbreaking results. Our users can securely use our services and be assured that we are moving towards all-around cybersecurity protection. This test shows that we are moving in the right direction.”
