Asides the already stated exciting feature, the Galaxy Z Flip, the newest and most exciting feature is the hinge that comes with the smartphone. The foldable hinge enables the device to open halfway. Besides, this feature makes it usable, like a laptop.
In this case, however, the smartphone would appear like a really small laptop.
Concerns About Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
After the release of Samsung Galaxy Fold and the issues that surround the device, users have fears of similar challenges in the Z Flip. The good thing about the Samsung Galaxy Fold is that it has excellent performance, a stable battery life, and a tablet-sized screen that folds in half. The bad news is, the screen display quality is questionable, and its durability is terrible.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, as It possesses a 7.3 inches foldable OLED screen. However, both phones vary in size. The Galaxy Fold appears like a mini-tablet while the Galaxy Z Flip seems like a regular smartphone with a large screen.
Unlike the Galaxy Z Flip, the Galaxy Fold comes with a plastic screen covered with a thick polymer layer. It isn’t a sleek as a glass screen and definitely not as thick either. This feature exposes the screen to the dangers of damage or spoilage.

- Do not scratch the screen with a pen or your fingernails.
- Avoid adding stickers to the screen.
- Do not get it wet, dusty, and never feed it at midnight.
- Keep the smartphone away from credit cards and pacemakers.
Unlike in the Galaxy Fold, where these instructions appear entirely relevant, the Z Flip feels way safer.
The thin glass screen makes Galaxy Z Flip more solid than the Fold in every way.
Asides the intriguing features that the Galaxy Z Flip possesses, it is relatively cheap compared to Motorola RAZR and Samsung Galaxy Fold. Some might argue that $1380 isn’t cheap, but compare to $2000 for a Galaxy Fold, it is a giveaway.
Motorola RAZR is another Foldable smartphone. It poses a major competition to Samsung foldable devices. However, Samsung is playing its trump card by selling the Galaxy Z Flip at a $1380 price. Motorola RAZR comes at a $1500 price and is a little more expensive than Samsung’s latest.
The Future Of Smartphones
In a way, it seems like Samsung is on a restitution quest. In every way, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is far better than its predecessor. Galaxy Z Flip is a complete turn-around from crazy high-end specs on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
However, the Galaxy Z Flip isn’t without a fault. The smartphone does not come with a 5G option. Galaxy Z Flip is supposed to be a phone that displays a picture of what the future holds for smartphones. The exclusion of a 5G option is an odd decision for a great phone.
