Meta’s Facebook Gaming subsidiary is making Messenger video conversations more fun with a new series of free-to-play games you can play with friends anywhere. The function is late in the post-covid lockdown era but perfect for fast Words with Friends, Mini Golf FRVR, and Exploding Kittens sessions (via Engadget).

Facebook users love the new Messenger video call gaming feature’s accessibility. Start a video conference with one or more people, press the group mode button in the middle, click the Play icon, and choose a game from the library—no downloading or installation necessary.

In 2018, Facebook announced an AR games feature in Messenger that allows up to six friends to get on a call and play games like Don’t Smile, encouraging friends not to smile. This deployment brings in genuine mobile games that are already thriving outside Messenger.

iOS, Android, and web users may now play Messenger video call games. As Facebook Gaming encourages developers to add functionality to their games, additional titles are expected. Most of the 14 games in the library only require two players.

Video calls are a fun way to chat with friends while playing games, but many platforms don’t make it easy to start one without using two services or a Drawful event. So be ready for your aunts to play Fish over the video.
