Xbox fans have a lot to look forward to this year and the next. Metro Exodus, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and more were all announced during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 press conference.
The first trailer shown during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 press conference was of Metro Exodus, where we see what is assumed to be the main character trekking through some sort of underground tunnel system in first person. When he emerges from it, the audience sees a destroyed town overgrown by forest. As the main character explores the ravaged homes, they encounter a giant mole-looking monster which he is able to defeat with a crossbow. The main character then proceeds to hop on a train with the help of a female companion.
The full description of the game can be found on the Metro Exodus’ official website. Here it is:
“Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter. Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet.”
There is no release date for Metro Exodus and pre-order is currently unavailable.
The second trailer shown right after the Metro Exodus trailer was the Assassin’s Creed: Origins trailer. There have been several leaks of the game leading up to the official announcement, the most recent one a GameInformer Magazine cover featuring the new Assassin’s Creed game according to Kotaku.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins takes place in Egypt and reveals how the Assassins Brotherhood came to be. It will be released on October 27 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Life is Strange: Before the Storm was also announced during the Microsoft Xbox E3 press conference, the prequel to the critically-acclaimed Life is Strange. The game takes place three years before the start to Life is Strange and before the kidnapping of Rachel Amber. This story focuses more on Max’s (the main character of Life is Strange) friend, Chloe Price, and her relationship with Rachel. Along with Life is Strange: Before the Storm, another critically-acclaimed game will be making its way back to Xbox One. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the sequel to the heart-wrenching story of Ori and the Blind Forest, an Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive release.
