Capcom has announced that the popular Japanese game series Monster Hunter is bringing its brand new game to PlayStation 4. The game, known as Monster Hunter: World, will be released for PS4 in early 2018, not much else has been released about the game so far besides its visually stunning graphics, some unique creatures, and the small amount of gameplay graphics that were shown in the trailer at Sony’s E3 press conference.
However, there have recently been three new updates in the news surrounding this new Monster Hunter game, the first update is that Capcom has also announced that they will be bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Nintendo Switch during the holiday time of 2017. The second is that it has been revealed that Monster Hunter: World will have four-player co-op missions in online multiplayer where players can drop into a mission with other players, the feature will even allow cross-play between Japan and the west. The third and final update is that Monster Hunter: World will be coming to Xbox One early 2018 and to PC at a later date.
From the gameplay trailer shown, the game will still retain the classic Monster Hunter mechanics and require the player to play strategically when fighting and hunting monsters, as well as using the abilities of the monsters to the players advantage to reach new areas, the land itself seems as though it can also be exploited in order to defeat monsters. Capcom had this to say regarding their upcoming game, “Monster Hunter: World delivers a seamless gameplay experience allowing players to move freely across map areas that comprise the living ecosystems and dynamically transition from day to night. The landscape and its diverse inhabitants play a critical role in each quest as players strategically use the surrounding environment including terrain, vegetation and wildlife to their advantage in battle or become hindered by the hazards they present. Hunters must use their cunning and abilities to track and maneuver their targets throughout the intense, evolving battles.”
Monster Hunter: World is set to release early 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One and a later to be announced date for PC and for those of you with a Nintendo Switch Monster Hunter XX is set to be released during the holiday season this year. These new Monster Hunter games are set to be incredible new gameplay experiences for Monster Hunter fans as well as those who are new to the series.
