Roku gives sports fans what they want—better access to women’s live sports. The business launched Women’s Sports Zone on Wednesday, a primary site for searching, discovering, and streaming women’s sports programming, from live games, competitions, and events to on-demand and free material.

Women’s Sports Zone will broadcast National Women’s Soccer League games, U.S. Women’s World Cup, LPGA, and more. In addition, the Women’s Sports Network, “The Longshots,” “Prodigy,” and “Bring It!” are free on The Roku Channel.

Roku users can stream all games from ESPN, ABC, CBS, CBS Sports Network, ESPN+, Paramount+, Prime Video, and WNBA League Pass as the 2023 WNBA season begins on Friday, May 19.

Roku’s sports experience has the Women’s Sports Zone. The new hub is under the “Sports” category on the home screen. In addition, they can search Roku Search or Roku Voice with the TV remote for “women’s sports” or their favorite team or league.

A 2022 National Research Group poll found that 30% of U.S. sports enthusiasts view more women’s sports than five years earlier. In addition, 85% of sports fans—including 79% of men—think women’s sports must grow. WNBA viewership alone has increased substantially. The 2022 season was the most-watched since 2006.

“The popularity and demand for women’s sports is greater than ever, and at Roku, we continue to commit to elevating this important programming for our customers,” said Roku VP of Global Communications Kelli Raftery. “At a time when it is harder than ever to find what you want to watch, our new Women’s Sports Zone makes it easier for fans to get to the content they love, and it arrives just in time for the WNBA season tip-off this Friday.”
