Microsoft (MSFT.O) President Brad Smith claimed on Tuesday that the Competition and Market Authority’s initial decision to prohibit the company’s acquisition of videogame firm Activision was harmful to Britain. British industry minister Kemi Badenoch disagreed.

Activision Blizzard (ATVI.O), the company behind “Call of Duty,” has since announced that it will sell its streaming rights in a new effort to obtain the CMA’s permission for its $69 billion acquisition of Microsoft.
When Smith criticized the deal despite being accepted in some other nations, Badenoch said that it had been appealed in the corporations’ primary market, the United States.

“If you talk about the magnitude of the market, we weren’t an outlier… We must eventually decide whether we are acting in our own best interests or merely following the lead of others when making decisions. Therefore, I do not concur with his statement,” she told the MPs.

If the CMA is acting improperly, it will likely show through a trend, which is not yet the case, in my opinion.
