Edge will disable autoplay videos. Microsoft is testing the new block option with Edge testers in the Canary channel alongside the allow and limit settings for auto-playing online videos.
The Microsoft Edge team claims it has “heard your requests for tight banning of media playback” after previously just giving a “limit” option that permits media autoplay based on whether you’ve visited the website before and how you’ve interacted with it. Blocking is being tightened. “We have started making the functionality accessible to select of our Canary users and will continue to make it available to more customers over the coming weeks,” says Microsoft Edge.

Force the selection to show immediately. Microsoft has quietly tested this new block option for two years. Neowin notes that enabling the “edge:/flags/#edge-autoplay-user-setting-block-option” flag will allow you to turn on the block option in the site permissions / Media autoplay section of Edge settings on the regular stable release of the browser.
Microsoft is introducing an autoplay videos block feature to Edge and a less helpful Bitcoin wallet. In addition, Microsoft is testing a crypto wallet feature with “simplified experiences that make Web3 simpler to connect with” before releasing it to users.
